Ikano Bostad

Gustavsberg is a unique district in Värmdö municipality dating from the 17th century. When new square-smart homes were built, right by the harbor in the old porcelain blocks, Ikano Bostad wanted to do something extra. Therefore, several of their houses have staircases decorated with art tiles.

The motif in Brf Glasera’s entrances is the pattern Berså by Stig Lindberg. From the beginning, the pattern was on a tableware, which was manufactured for several years in Gustavsberg’s porcelain factory. We think it is very fun that the classic pattern has been given a new place.

– Originally, the pattern was designed for everyday porcelain in the 1960s and it feels very fun that today there is an interest in the construction and housing industry to use the pattern again. Berså is a timeless pattern and part of our Swedish cultural heritage.

The collaboration with Ikano Bostad began with Everstyle making a move-in gift to the new homeowners in the first house that was built. The new neighbors painted a picture together which was then used to design pot holders. The gifts were much appreciated and it was also a way for the new neighbors to get to know each other.

Today, there are two variants of Berså in Ikano Bostad’s gates. Both the classic green pattern but also a gray variant.
